The Minister for Employment , Productivity and Industrial Relations, Jone Usamate has today highlighted that 21 seasonal workers have been chosen from Ovalau to work in New Zealand farms.
Usamate was speaking at the public consultation forum held at the Lomaiviti Provincial Office
Usamate said that he is happy that two employers from New Zealand actually travelled to Ovalau and hand picked these workers from their villages.
To date more than 800 workers from Fiji have been employed under the seasonal workers scheme.
He added that Vanuatu is setting a very good example with 4,100 workers in New Zealand farms alone.
