26-year-old woman drowns in the Tuva River


policeA 26 year old woman of Semo Village is believed to have drowned while diving for water mussels in the Tuva River.

The incident occurred yesterday afternoon, whereby the victim was diving with two other women when she disappeared.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro has confirmed that a search was conducted and her body was found floating near the river bank.

A post mortem will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.

The drowning death toll stands at 5 compared to 4 for the same period last year.
