35 year old becomes latest road fatality

road deathA 35 year old man who was a victim of a road accident early Thursday morning passed away at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital yesterday.

The victim was allegedly bumped by a taxi driven by a 27 year old at a crossing in Four miles, Nasinu.

He had since been admitted in hospital following the accident.

The driver is expected to be questioned soon as investigations continue.

The road death toll currently stands at 28 compared to 24 for the same period last year.

Meanwhile four men have been charged with one count of aggravated robbery and three counts of burglary for a series of robberies in Nadi.

The four accused are expected to be produced at the Nadi Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Two of the accused are also being investigated for a series of robberies in the Central, Southern and Eastern Division.

And four men who were taken in for questioning for their alleged involvement in an early morning robbery at Visama Road, Nausori on Thursday have been questioned and released.
