Disciplinary action subjected to students and teachers found using an Electronic Cigarette

Screen shot 2015-05-26 at 7.49.54 PMAny teacher or student found using an electronic cigarette will be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with the School Disciplinary Policy.

The warning comes after the Ministry of Education was advised by the National Substance Abuse Advisory Council advised the Ministry of Education that a student was found in possession of an electronic cigarette.

The Ministry of Education has in a Circular to all school heads, divisional and district education offices warned teachers to be aware of other cases.

The Tobacco Control Decree prohibits the sale of cigarette rolls, smoking in public places and children under the age of 18 years to buys cigarettes.

In 2014 the Decree was amended to include Electronic Cigarette.

In the U-S-A, there have been complaints of injury linked to e-cigarettes and in some instances cartridges have blown off in users’ mouths causing serious injuries.
