Fiji Football fraternity mourns the loss of Francine Lockington

DE0gNwXU0AA-9qcThe Fiji Football fraternity is mourning the loss of former national under 17 and under 19 goalkeeper – Francine Lockington.

Lockington who won the Fiji FA Women Footballer of the year award, and the Golden glove at the last OFC Under 17 championship, was dropped from the Fiji under 19 team to the oceania championships event – currently underway in New Zealand, after falling sick.

She last featured for Lautoka in the womens league last month.

Fiji FA CEO Mohammed Yusuf said – Lockington passed away at the Lautoka hospital two days ago.

Yusuf added that Fiji Football will surely miss Lockington – who was very passionate, committed and had so much to offer to the sport.
