Fiji TV acquires Rights for La Liga

Football fans in the country will now get to watch one of the most competitive football competitions in the World.

As you heard last night, Fiji Television Limited will be showing the Spanish League – La Liga on its platform from next week.

Fiji One has acquired the exclusive Broadcasting rights for La Liga, the top soccer division in Spain to be shown on Free To Air Channel.

“Fiji TV first of all felt that we needed to bring something of a difference to our viewers and that’s what we did and people at FTV worked hard to ensure we bring this competition to our Platform,” said Karen Lobendahn – CEO, Fiji Television Limited.

Given the strong interest and demand from thousands of football fans in the country – Fiji Television Limited decided to get La Liga on it’s channel.

“We are very proud to bring a sport of that caliber onto free to air viewing in Fiji through our Fiji one channel and as in General.”

Such world-known clubs as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and other top Spanish teams, with a huge number of fans worldwide participate in La Liga.

Lobendahn adds the Spanish League hosts some of the biggest names in international and club-level football.

“Our fans get to watch big teams such as Real Madrid and Barcelona and off course big players such Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi, Iniesta and they will get to watch them on our Platform.”

Our local viewers will be able to enjoy viewing matches every week of the season 2017-2018.

La Liga season gets underway on Saturday the 19th of August and is one of the most popular football leagues in the world, with Spanish clubs winning 11 Champions League and Europa League titles over the last decade.
