Fiji TV signs deal with Raka 7s

Knowing the depth and having provided significant coverage of local 7s tournaments in the country – organisers have opted to go with Fiji’s Leading Television station.

Organisers of the Raka 7s tournament have teamed up with Fiji Television Limited for its inaugural tournament.

“We are very delighted to partner with the Raka 7s committee. I think for us it’s always giving back and showcasing talent at its best and are privileged to showcase that on Fiji One  and also via Fiji TV stream,” said Karen Lobendahn – CEO, Fiji Television Limited.

This is a new partnership between two parties.

“It’s the first time we are in this Raka 7s partnership and we have faith that this is only the beginning of many more years to come and we give the Raka 7s committee full support in helping grow the sport in general.”

This deal will see Raka 7s tournament to be broadcasted on Fiji One.

And why choose Fiji Television Limited to be their official media partner?

“Fiji Television and I have been working with for the past three and half years and very professional and at the same time they have handled HSBC coverage also managed major local tournament in Fiji and are best broadcaster around,” said Ropate Kauvesi – Tournament Director, Raka 7s.

Fiji Television Limited and Executives of Raka 7s are hoping for a long term relationship which will see the growth of the tournament.

“We been looking at long term relationship what Fiji TV has to offer in terms of coverage to all parts of Fiji and at the same time live streaming so people don’t miss out and we happy with that.”

In it’s first year – organisers are hoping to make this year’s tournament also a memorable one.

“We reached more than 35 since we last spoke and we getting 5 to 6 teams per day so we reaching our target and its going
very well.”

The Raka 7s which will be held on the 24th and 25th of November, boasts 80 Teams with 64 Men’s  and 16 Women’s Team with cash prizes totaling to $51,000.
