Three men were charged for their alleged involvement in the cultivation of illicit drugs while one has been charged with one count of being found in possession of illicit drugs in Kadavu.
Chief Operations Officer,ACP Rusiate Tudravu says the four were escorted to Suva yesterday and are expected to be produced at the Suva Magistrates Court today.
Close to 4 thousand plants were found on one farm located in Levuka in the district of Yale.
Tudravu paid a visit to the village to speak to the elders about their concerns on the involvement of youths in the drug trade.
Tudravu says the village elders have assured their support while police have agreed on regular visits with an open line of communication when dealing with the saftey of the villages.
Villagers were urged to think of the implications of allowing such operations as this could not only cast a bad image of their community but also be a bad influence to the younger generations.
