A Hurricane Warning Previously In Force For Ono-I-Lau And Vatoa Is Now Cancelled.

A storm warning remains in force for Ono-i-Lau and Vatoa.

A gale warning remains in force for Matuku, Totoya, Moala , Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Lakeba, Nayau and the rest of southern lau .

A strong wind warning remains in force for the rest of fiji.

Severe tropical cyclone gita centre 930hpa category 4 was located near 21.1
south 179.9 west or about 130 kilometres west- southwest of Ono-i-Lau and 310 kilometres southeast of kadavu at 8:00pm. close to its centre the cyclone is expected to have average winds up to 195 km/hr with momentary gusts to 275 km/hr. 

The cyclone is moving west at about 22 km/hr.

On this track, the cyclone centre is expected to be located about 250 kilometres south of kadavu or about 340 kilometers west of Ono-i-Lau at 8am tomorrow and about 340 kilometres southwest of Kadavu or about 520 kilometers west of ono-i-lau at 8pm tomorrow. 

Destructive winds are likely to begin several hours before the cyclone passes
nearby.

For the rest of Fiji: strong southerly winds with an average speed of 60km/hr and momentary gusts to 80km/hr. occasional rain, heavy at times and squally thunderstorms. rain becoming frequent from tomorrow. localised heavy falls may lead to flash
flooding.
