A Hurricane Warning Remains In Force For Ono-I-Lau And Vatoa.

A Storm Warning Remains In Force For The Rest Of The Southern Lau Group.

A Gale Warning Remains In Force For Matuku, Totoya, Moala, Kadavu And the Nearby smaller Islands, as well as Lakeba And Nayau.

A Strong Wind Warning Remains In Force For The Rest Of Fiji.

Severe Tropical Cyclone Gita’s Centre Category 4 Was Located Near 21.3 south 177.7 West Or About 130 Kilometres East-Southeast Of Ono-I-Lau, And 500 kilometres East-Southeast Of Kadavu.

Close To Its Centre The Cyclone is Expected To Have Average Winds Up To 195 Km/Hr With Momentary Gusts To 275 km/Hr.

The Average Winds Close To Its Centre Are Expected To Increase To 215 km/Hr With Momentary Gusts To 295 Km/Hr By Midday Today.

The Cyclone Is Moving west At About 25 Km/Hr.

On This Track, The Cyclone Centre Is Expected To Be Located About 140 Kilometres west-Southwest Of Ono-I-Lau Or About 300 Kilometres Southeast Of Kadavu, At 9Pm today, And About 230Km South Of Kadavu, Or About 320 Km West Of Ono-I-Lau At 9Am tomorrow.

Destructive Winds Are Likely To Begin Several Hours Before The Cyclone Passes
over Head Or Nearby.

For Ono-I-Lau And Vatoa: Destructive Hurricane Force Winds With Average Speed Wind Of 195Km/Hr, With Gusts Of Up to 275Km/Hr. Periods Of Rain, Heavy At Times And Squally Thunderstorms. Damaging heavy Swells, With Sea Flooding Of Coastal Areas.

For The Rest Of The Southern Lau Group:

Destructive Storm Force Winds With Average Speeds Of 110Km/Hr With Momentary gusts up To 155Km/Hr. Periods Of Rain, Heavy At Times And Squally Thunderstorms – Damaging Heavy Swells With Sea Flooding Of Coastal Areas.

For Matuku, Totoya, Moala, Lakeba, Nayau, Kadavu And Nearby Smaller Islands:
damaging Gale Force Winds With Average Speeds Of 85Km/Hr With Momentary Gusts of up To 120Km/Hr. Periods Of Rain, Heavy At Times And Squally Thunderstorms. Damaging heavy Swells With Sea Flooding Of Coastal Areas.

For The Rest Of Fiji: Strong Southerly Winds With An Average Speed Of 45Km/Hr And Momentary Gusts To 70Km/Hr From Tomorrow.
