Pilot instructor – Iliesa Tawalo’s body arrived from Labasa this morning and his colleagues and students of the Pacific Flying School took him home, than proceeded for a church service before finally making his way to his final resting place.
Hundreds gathered to remember and farewell him today.

Iliesa Tawalo’s colleagues and students of the Pacific Flying School bade farewell before he was taken home to his waiting parents.
Here in Beverly Hills in Votualevu Iliesa Tawalo was received by his family and he entered his home silently where his parents sat patiently with a heavy heart.
He was than taken for his final service where hundreds of family members, friends, and colleagues had turned up in numbers to remember him.
Mixed emotions and the hundreds gathered here reflected the extraordinary life of a family boy, a church member, and an a flight instructor who’s always out of his way to help others.
When he passed away, everyone who knew mourned his passing and God knew the life of this young man. No-one else knew his day but the lord himself.
Iliesa Tawalo was than taken to the Enamanu Cemetery for his burial.
Tawalo and trainee pilot Merelesita Lutu crashed into the Delaikoro Mountains while on a routine cross country flight on a cessna aircraft on monday last week.
The effort of retrieving the wreckage is ongoing pending an investigation into the tragedy.
