Last batch of seasonal workers get final piece of advise

Last 6 of 30 seasonal workers selected for the New Zealand Recognized Seasonal Employer Scheme went through a pre-departure training in Nadi today.

“We have requested them to adapt themselves well to the situation, listen to the supervisor, the employers and also look after their health whilst there,” said Isimeli Tuivaga- Deputy Secretary- OHS Service.

24 seasonal workers have already been sent to New Zealand so far.

“If they do their task well, the employers will need more. Vanuatu has about 3 thousand seasonal workers in New Zealand, we have only 30, so we want to lift up the numbers”
