Methodist Church provides evacuation centers


methodist churchThe Methodist Church of Fiji in its proactive approach would like to reaffirm the Church’s commitment of complementing, what the government and other disaster relief organization is currently doing.

The General Secretary Rev. Ili Vuni-suwai release a statement calling to all Divisional Superintendents and Circuit Ministers to make available all Church buildings and hall to serve as Evacuation Centers for all areas likely to be impacted by Cyclone Gita and low-lying areas that are likely to be flooded due to the heavy downfall.

Rev Vuni-suwai said that everyone is to be received with care and the safety of women and children is to be prioritized.

He added that community members who are persons with disabilities, and our senior citizens, should be identified and assisted.

The General Secretary of the Methodist Church in Fiji said that the bible is very clear about loving our neighbors and that means regardless of ethnicity, religion or gender.

Rev Vuni-suwai is calling on members of the public to continue to pray and remember those who are directly affected in our prayers.
