nadi airportClose to 50 percent of upgrade works to the Nadi Airport is almost complete.

Contractors, Hawkins and Pacific Building Solutions said they plan to complete the Terminal Modernization Project by mid next year.

Steel roof structures will go up from this month.

Airports Fiji Limited Executive Chairman Faiz Khan said maintaining the airport operational has been a priority during the project which is worth 105 million dollars.

Construction works, Khan said have been staged to allow the airport to be operational.

Most of the works have been carried out during the night when there are no flights to ensure passengers are not affected.

However there will be disruptions to some operations with areas cordoned off, duty free spaces becoming smaller and some areas shut down.
