According to the Education Ministry, 451 more students have enrolled this year.
Education Minister Dr. Mahendra Reddy in his written response to a parliamentary question last week, said there was now a total of 1029 students at QVS compared to the 740 students last year.
With 43 teachers, this represented a ratio of 1 to 23 students.
Dr Reddy says the school has 20 streams of classes from Year 9 to Year 13.
Year 9 has the highest number of enrollment this year with 280 students in 5 classrooms.
QVS had reportedly sustained damage amounting to over 9 million dollars in the aftermath of Cyclone Winston and was closed for repairs for a year.
