These were the words of the Agriculture Minister Inia Seruiratu at the Food and Agriculture Organisation Statistics Workshop that was held in Nadi this morning.
The Minister stated that the Government recognizes the need for more consistent and quality data and has placed the highest priority towards the improvement of data collection and dissemination processes.
Speaking to participants at the Food and Agriculture Organisation Statistics Workshop, Minister for Agriculture Inia Seruiratu highlighted the importance of improving data collection in the Agriculture sector.
Seruiratu says this is to address the urgent need of a regular flow of consistent agriculture flow of information for planers, policy and decision makers. Seruiratu stated funding is also something that the Ministry has to look at in terms of development.
The Minister reminded participants to take advantage of the technical assistance offered by the Food and Agriculture Organisation and it’s partners. The next agriculture censers will be held in 2019.
