Josaia Waqabaca, Anare Ravula, Fred Wesley, Hank Arts and the Fiji Times Ltd all appeared today before Judge Justice Vincent Parera.
The first accused, Josaia Waqabaca’s lawyer Aman Ravindra Singh has today filed for Voir Dire.
The State has been given time to file their Voir Dire disclosures and the matter will be called again on 30th of January 2017.
Also, Fiji Times publisher Frank Arts’ hearing date on the bail application will be decided on the 8th of next month.
Arts wants to travel overseas to attend his daughter’s wedding.
It is alleged that Josaia Waqabaca, Anare Ravula, Fred Wesley, Hank Arts, and the Fiji Times Ltd made, or caused to be published, a statement in the iTaukei language in the Nai Lalakai newspaper that is likely to incite dislike, hatred, or antagonism of the Muslim community.
