Waqainabete has chosen to remain silent in her case


sainianaThe former ministry of Transport’s Spokesperson Sainiana Waqainabete has chosen to exercise the right to remain silent in her case.

Magistrate Waleen George asked Radrodro’s lawyer in court today if his client would exercise her right and wish to remain silent and Vosarogo confirmed that Radrodro will exercise the right to remain silent.

Vosarogo also informed the court that he has indicated to the prosecution that it is in the view of the defence not to call any witnesses and just proceed to file submissions.

Magistrate Waleen George has asked both parties to file written closing submissions simultaneously by 27th April 2018.

Radrodro is facing nine counts of obtaining financial advantage by deception.

It is alleged that she obtained a total of $5,760 over nine separate occasions

The matter has been adjourned to 21st May 2018 for hearing on closing submissions.

Bail has been extended for Sainiana Waqainabete.
